Commonly used silicone oil(polydimethylsiloxane

Coatings, plastics
Adding a very small amount of dimethylpolysiloxane
topaint and ink can make the color uneven, make
the painted surface more uniform, enhance the
brightness and smoothness.Dimethicone with high
viscosity can also be used as a defoamer for coatings: the method and amount of use
must be correct, otherwise the opposite effect will occur. The coating after adding
dimethylpolysiloxane has poor compatibility with other coatings, and it is difficult to mix
with each other. It isrecommended that the addition amount of silicone fluid be controlled
within 0.01%-0.5%.
Adding polydimethylsiloxane to the thermoplastic resin will improve the mold release of the
plastic and the dispersibility of the inorganic filler in the resin, and the fluidity of the resin and the
lubricity and wear resistance of the surface of the product will be improved. Adding dimethicone
to POM, PA, HPS, ABS and other resins has been widely used to produce wear-resistant and
lubricated plastic parts.
Electrical insulating oil
Because dimethicone has good chemical stability, thermal stability, electrical properties and flame retardancy,
its application in electrical insulation continues to grow. Compared with mineral oil insulating oil, silicone oil has
very good flame retardancy, and is non-toxic and harmless to human body and environment; automotive
transformer oil has been commonly used in Japan, which further confirms its high durability.
Shock absorption, damping
Due to its viscosity-temperature properties, wide viscosity range, thermal stability and high compressibility,
dimethyl silicone fuild is widely used as shock absorption and damping oil in machine manufacturing and
instrumentation industries.For example, high viscosity silicone oil with a viscosity (25 degrees) of tens of thousands
to hundreds of thousands of mm2.s-1 is added to the torsional absorption damper of diesel engines used in
generators, vehicles and ships, which can improve the durability of the engine. Damping oil is used in automotive
